CESA 11 had the privilege of hosting international speaker Sam Demma on October 22nd! Sam provided over 50 students, from 12 schools, with strategies on becoming strong leaders, tips on being accountable, and challenged students to better their schools and communities. Students also worked as teams to develop a project that they will work on throughout the school year to make a positive impact in their community. This was Sam's fourth visit to CESA 11, and his impact will carry on throughout the school year. That is something to "taco" bout!
Sweet 2B Me
Twenty-eight students in grades 5-8 came to CESA 11 for the Sweet 2B Me event where students learned about process vs product, perfectionism, mindfulness, and learning from their mistakes from guest presenters.
Writing Scripts to Screen
Eighteen students in grades 5-8 participated in this film creating event. Student teams started by writing a story which then was broken down into a storyboard to create a film using only music and video to capture and tell their story (no words) as their final product. Students showed a lot of growth during this 3-day opportunity.
The Creative Lens: Exploring the Art of Photography
Twenty-four students in grades 3-6 participated in this 2-day experience. Students learned about the history of photography, took pictures with a variety of cameras, what to consider when taking a photo, as well as how to edit once the photo is taken. Students were able to bring home one of their "masterpiece" photos.
