Wisconsin school districts are finding it increasingly difficult to hire and retain qualified substitute teachers. In the state of Wisconsin, recent legislation will allow individuals with an Associate degree or higher to become eligible to be a substitute teacher according to Wisconsin PI 34 (Act 59). Individuals interested in becoming a substitute teacher or current substitute teachers interested in growing their skills are encouraged to attend this 2-day training.
Participants will receive a comprehensive introduction to substitute teaching (see topics below), a one-year subscription to Foundations of Effective Substitute Teacher Training - Master Teacher Online Courses, and guidance in obtaining a Three-Year Substitute Teacher License and applying to districts.
