Education for Homeless Children and Youth Grant
Cooperative Education Service Agency 11 has been awarded an Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) project grant for the 2017-20 grant cycle. These funds are provided under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act and complete the first year of the three-year funding cycle.
Children, youth, and families who are experiencing homelessness face many challenging issues on a daily basis. The overarching goal of the grant is to ensure that each homeless child and youth has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as provided to other children and youth and to eliminate barriers to the identification of, or the enrollment, attendance, or success in school of homeless children and youth.
