CONSULTATION SERVICES

School districts can purchase consultant days to address district special education needs determined by the Director of Special Education and/or the Administrative Team. This special education service can include student level support to programmatic level support for students ages 3 to 21. The intent of the Special Education Consultation service is to increase the capacity of providers in the district to meet the needs of learners with disabilities. 

Special Education consultants are available to meet district's diverse and ever-changing needs. Various special education related initiatives include but are not limited to:​

  • Assessments

  • Coaching

  • Collaborative IEP teams

  • Co-Teaching

  • Cultural competence

  • Curriculum and instruction in Special Education Classrooms

  • Data based decision-making

  • Early literacy/reading/math

  • IDEA compliance, process and procedures

  • Mentoring new teachers

  • Modifications and Accommodations

  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention trainings

  • Ongoing updates regarding state and federal mandates special education processes and procedures

  • Positive behavior supports

  • Program support

  • Sensory Integration

  • Social Skills 

  • Transition/Life Skills

  • Universal Design for Learning

  • Writing Standards Based IEPs
