Assistive Technology (AT)

Assistive Technology (AT) services in CESA #11 were provided through two seperate, but intertwined, projects; Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative (WATI) and CESA #11's consultation service model.  WATI has been a DPI funded program for more than fourteen years.  This year that project is undergoing great changes as the grant, as we know it, is phased out.  There will continue to be support in the area of AT through our purchased consultation service.

As the statewide project completes its work updating resources in the area of AT it will continue to offer Leadership and other trainings (see links to the right).  Regionally trainings will be offered as needs arise through our CSPD offerings (see links to the right).

The statewide lending library continues to be available, through in a different location, to those wishing to "try before you buy" AT equipment, software and devises free of charge.  The catalog is available at www.wati.org.  Regionally we continue to offer some materials, purchased through the grant, free to all districts for this school year.

WATI Libraries

The WATI lending library provides access to assistive technology equipment, software, and resources for children throughtout Wisconsin.  A listing of available resources can be found at: http://www.wati.org/loanlibrary/loanlibrary.html.

Tip Of The Month

When you make a document and share it with someone else, they must have the same program you used to create the document in order to open it. Adobe Acrobat was created to save documents in PDF format so that any document could be shared with everyone. Learn how you can convert any document into a PDF by using a free PDF online conversion service known as PDF Online (http://www.pdfonline.com/convert_pdf.asp).
