Statewide Title I  Network

Districts across the state have expressed a need to receive additional guidance and assistance in implementing effective Title I programs and in maximizing the potential of their Title I dollars to raise student achievement.

In an effort to address these needs, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has created a new statewide Title I Network. The Title I Network is a collaborative effort with the Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs) that will provide increased technical assistance and professional development for districts and schools with Title I programs. The Network will provide free or reduced cost Title I services for all school districts in their CESA. Specifically, the Title I Network representative will provide a base level of services to districts and schools receiving Title I dollars in the following five areas:

Title I Application. Consultation with coordinators and information about Title I law, programming, reporting requirements, and monitoring.

Title I Coordinator Leadership. Information and resources for Title I coordinators through at lease two regional meetings as well as a Title I coordinator training.

Districts and Schools Identified for Improvement. Assist districts and Title I schools identified for improvement in identifying and implementing improvement strategies and sanctions as required under NCLB.

Title I Related Professional Development. Offer multiple professional development opportunities based on regional Title I needs that have been identified by districts in the CESA.

Resources and Collaboration. Facilitate collaboration with other agencies and professional organizations and coordinate efforts with related initiatives, including the RtI Technical Assistance Center.
