SMART Board Boot Camp - STAR Academy 2010

The Title IIA consortium provides school districts with administrative and programmatic consultation along with specific assistance in the areas of applications as defined under Title IIA-Preparing and Training Highly Qualified Teachers and Principals. Regional meetings and the facilitation of school improvement planning in regards to the school district’s ESEA consolidated application are a part of this service.

Title IIA Program Services

STAR Academy  The Title IIA Consortium supports the professional development strands for STAR Academy and follow-up sessions throughout the school year. Themes such as differentiated instruction, adolescent literacy, and emerging technology applications were featured the past years. Membership districts participate in STAR Academy with a reduced registration cost.

Educator Licensure:  With the focus of Title IIA funding on Highly Qualified Teachers and Principals, the Title IIA Consortium supports districts as they work with PI-34.17 (2) (b) licensure requirements to address the district level components of the legislation.

·   Ongoing Support Seminars:  CESA #11 will provide these seminars annually. Topics at this time include Parent Communications, Classroom Management, Assessment and Instruction. These support seminars reflect the Wisconsin teaching standards and are designed to meet the needs of your district staff, both initial educators and their mentors, as well as tenured staff.

·   Mentoring:  CESA #11 provides resources for mentoring through regional mentor trainings and resources through the Professional Library. On-site consultation is available through our in-district consultation service to districts that want to customize their program to suit their individual needs.

Other Regional Staff Development:  As districts engage principals and teachers in leadership development and best practices, the Title IIA Consortium coordinates regional workshops based on requests from districts and the PAC Steering Committee. Examples of recent topics include Understanding Poverty, Classroom Walkthrough Trainings for Principals, and Redefining Literacy for the 21st Century.
