Multicultural Night
The Menomonie Head Start Parent Committee with assistance from staff hosted a Multicultural Dinner and entertainment at the Leisure Services Center in Menomonie Friday April 24th. Families enjoyed traditional Hmong and Trinidadian dishes. Parent and staff volunteers prepared and served dishes to eighty one adults and children. Volunteers worked very hard to make the delicious dishes from both Hmong and Trinidadian cultures. Hmong dishes included stir fry pork and vegetables with noodles, spicy pork and lettuce, and sticky rice. Trinidadian dishes included lemon rice with yogurt sauce and spinach puffs with an apple sauce. Dessert was fresh sweet watermelon. After dinner, parents planned entertainment with Mr. Magician, Ron Anderson, and traditional Hmong dancers. Adults and children enjoyed the fun filled evening.
