A New collaboration for our SciMaTech Consortium Districts:

SciMaTech Presents…………………

Engineering is Elementary (EiE)

Fortunately, children are born engineers – they are fascinated with building, with taking things apart, and with how things work.  The Engineering is Elementary curriculum harnesses children’s natural curiosity to promote their learning of engineering and technology concepts and skills.

The SciMaTech Consortium offers professional development and support for the following EiE kits:

        ·        The Best of Bugs:  Designing Hand Pollinators

        ·        Thinking Inside the Box:  Designing Plant Packages

        ·        Water, Water Everywhere:  Designing Water Filters

        ·        No Bones About It:  Designing Knee Braces

        ·        A Sticky Situation:  Designing Walls

        ·        A Slick Solution:  Cleaning An Oil Spill

        ·        A Long Way Down:  Designing Parachutes

        ·        Just Passing Through:  Designing Model Membranes

        ·        Now You're Cooking:  Designing Solar Ovens

CESA #11 currently has two Museum of Boston Certified EiE Trainers working within the state of WI developing this state-of-the-art EiE curriculum.

Nancy Graese, nancyg@cesa11.k12.wi.us or Anne Wallisch, annew@cesa11.k12.wi.us.

(Contact either Nancy or Anne to help you develop your needs for this exciting opportunity with  your staff and Elementary students – K-5.)

EiE has recently been awarded the Silicon Valley Education Foundation "STEM Innovation Award" for 2013!
